Corrosion Repair
Rust and corrosion are some of the worst enemies you will face in the area of truck maintenance. Difficult to stop and nearly impossible to wipe out totally, they are an inevitable part of the daily wear and tear on your rig. We have tons of experience with corrosion whether its just starting or whether it is in advanced stages. Don't worry, it is repairable. Usually.
Repairing Corrosion
Find It
This can be tough. We will take apart whatever we need to in order to find all the corrosion possible so it can be stopped. It likes to hang out in joints and seams, and around fasteners. Wherever moisture can enter and stay for a while will eventually corrode.
Remove It
A wire wheel on a small grinder works great for this. We make sure that all the corrosion is removed and we're down to the bare metal. Any area that is not cleaned up good will have a head start on corroding again
Repair It
Corrosion can be brutal. It can put holes in sheet metal, break bolts and rivets right off, and weaken or break mounts and supports. We are careful to repair and/or replace anything that has been damaged, ensuring that there is no structural damage.
Seal it
Keeping moisture out is the key to winning this battle. We will use products such as caulking and epoxy primers as needed to seal up the area and ensure a lasting fix.
